As with the last year we?ve submitted a thoughtful and comprehensive response to the proposed changes in reimbursement of BPH treatments and proposed reductions in the physician fee schedule impacting urologists. We?ve devoted substantial time to discussions and sharing results of our analysis with the AUA with the American Association of Clinical Urologists with reimbursement specialists who work with the AUA reimbursement specialists who we have retained and key opinion leaders in the urologic community. The proposed rule has potentially broad impacts for many specialties urology included. This has resulted in significant and vocal responses for many specialty groups. Because of the number of moving pieces we have absolutely no way of predicting what will be decided and published as a final rule but we continue to work our response marshalling support from within the specialty of urology and aligning the company with its urologists? customers. Fiscal 2009 served as a year to reevaluate relaunch and recommit. I expect the company to continue to promote its unique capabilities substantiating this through our produce enhancements our treatment customization and our comparative effectiveness story.

The new clinic is located in the Westover Hills Baptist Medical Building. Urology San Antonio has 180 employees including 27 urologists and a radiation oncologists who treat patients in the San Antonio area.

–> Public patients sent to doctors’ own hospital. –> Louise Hall Health Reporter August 27 2009 A GRUP of urologists were paid to operate on public patients in a private hospital they own because the NSW Government needed to cut elective surgery waiting lists to qualify for up to $300 million in Commonwealth incentive payments. The five partners in Urology Sydney – a consortium of doctors who also run the urology department at St George Hospital – were funded by NSW Health to urgently treat more than 100 public patients. They negotiated a deal directly with the area health service that manages St George to treat 58 patients at Hurstville Private Hospital in the weeks leading up to the June 2009 deadline. The same urologists had bought the hospital for $3. 3 million in partnership with three other surgeons 21 months earlier. The deal gave them exclusive access to any public patients re-directed to the private sector and the capacity to earn income as both the treating doctors and as the owners of the hospital.

Belleville doctors will explain new prostate treatment

Enlarged prostates — or benign prostatic hyperplasia — is a noncancerous growth of the prostate which presses on the urethra and obstructs the flow of urine.
