AUA Hires New Government Relations and Advocacy Manager

This new AUA position bears primary responsibility for the conceptualization implementation coordination and evaluation of Section and state government relations advocacy and legislative activity for the AUA. This position will work closely with the American Association of Clinical Urologists (AACU) to ensure urology?s interests are represented at the state level. Wertman brings more than 10 years of government relations experience to the new position including work with member associations and medical organizations. Wertman has served as the government relations specialist for the University of Virginia Medical Center; the director of public policy for the American Association of Geographers; and the associate director for public affairs for the Consortium of Social Science Associations.

The consultants from the specialties of Medicine Pediatrics Skin bstetrics and Gynaecology rthopaedics Eye ENT and Urology examined the patients. The consultants who participated in the camp were Dr Dinesh Jain (Medicine) Dr Deepak Bhat (Pediatrics) Dr Sunil Gupta (Skin) Dr Sunita Goyal (bst & Gynae) Dr Pankaj Mahindra (rthopaedics) Dr GS Bajwa (pthalomology) Dr Munish Munjal (ENT) and Dr Arvind Goyal (Urology). Secretary of DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta was also present on the occasion. The patients who came to the camp for consultation were provided free registration including free medicines free urine routine blood sugar and 20% concession on PD investigation and indoor treatment in general ward excluding usage of medical equipment.

We determined the rate of duplicate research presentations at recent American Urological Association and European Urological Association annual meetings. We cross-referenced all clinical research presentations related to prostate cancer presented at the 2006 American Urological Association and European Urological Association annual meetings with those presented at the corresponding annual meetings in 2005 2006 and 2007 using a defined search strategy based on author names abstract titles study design and objectives. All data abstraction was performed in duplicate by 2 independent reviewers to ensure accuracy. We identified 282 and 312 abstracts on prostate cancer clinical research at the 2006 European Urological Association and American Urological Association annual meetings respectively. The overall duplication rate of American Urological Association abstracts was 19.

Guess the main goal is getting seen in the first place no matter the condition. If one was hospitalized the facility was clean but may have been old. ur hospital was built I believe in the 1890s and still housed urology neurosurgery and plastic surgery other specialties having moved to a newer hospital. ne might be admitted to a ward with several patients in one room separated only by a curtain – so privacy during consultation or when something was done to the patient in the room might be something a non-desensitized American patient might take issue with. Pitfalls: Too few doctors – there were two urologists and one resident for a town Dundee with a population of between 141000 and 181000 people not counting the surrounding areas. Tyler has more than 10 urologists. Privacy waiting lists especially for significant conditions are also issues as well as no urgency to treat as everyone is government employee (human nature).
